Scouting for Good

On 10/30/2012

The Boy Scouts of the Daniel Webster Council plan to distribute flyers and door hangers to homes throughout New Hampshire on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 for their annual ‘Scouting for Good’ food collection program. Then, one week later on November 10, 2012 these same Scouts will return to collect donated food items and deliver these food items to area collection stations.

This year, two of the beneficiaries of this program is Harbor Homes’ Maple Arms Shelter and the Southern New Hampshire HIV/AIDS Task Force. Maple Arms Shelter is an emergency shelter for those who are homeless, and provides food for its residents. Southern New Hampshire HIV/AIDS Task Force also provides a food pantry for clients and residents of the organization.

The Scouts and adult volunteers will be collecting any kind of non-perishable foods on this day and they are very happy that they are able to give to the community in this way. Harbor Homes and Southern New Hampshire HIV/AIDS Task Force, would like to commend the Boy Scouts for their community service. The residents of Harbor Homes’ shelter and clients from the Task Force are thankful for the communities’ generous food donations.
