Radio Coverage for Harbor Homes’ Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program

Did you know that veterans make up over 23% of our homeless population? Harbor Homes, along with a grant from the federal government, is working to decrease veteran homelessness by providing housing and supportive services to low-income and homeless veteran households throughout NH.

In October 2012, Harbor Homes became a recipient of a Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) grant. In an on-air discussion with the radio hosts of “Self Empowerment NH” Lori Magoon and Jay Bernier, SSVF Program Manager, Cate Sementa,  discussed the opportunities for veterans in our community to benefit from SSVF connections. Since October, Cate has spearheaded this program with the help of Kevin Fox, an outreach worker to help connect veterans with these services.
