Harbor Homes Helps New Hampshire’s Homeless Population Decline
POSTED ON March 13th BY PartnershipTeam
According to an article written by The Concord Patch, New Hampshire’s number of homeless residents declined in the past year by 3%. The Homeless Point In Time count is annually conducted by regional and statewide Continuum of Care, with information disseminated by the state Department of Health and Human Services’ Bureau of Homeless and Housing Services. This year’s Point in Time count was conducted on Jan. 25, 2012 and the results were that 2,438 of NH residents are homeless. While the overall reduction is a relatively small change,we are headed in the right direction. The services Harbor Homes provides helps to decrease the number of people experiencing homelessness in New Hampshire. Harbor Homes provides affordable housing, in additional to emergency, transitional, and permanent supportive housing to more than 700 very low income NH residents who are currently homeless or at an increased risk of homelessness; in MORE >
